Matshidiso Masire has practical experience in delivering international public health programs in HIV/AIDS. She has skills in international project management and experience of new market development across the private and not-for-profit sectors. She has served in leadership positions for a number of multinational corporations, devising financing, resource mobilization and advocacy strategies and plans related to HIV and AIDS, and has represented organizations at various levels of community, government and corporate structures, as well as conducted needs assessment exercises for new initiatives globally.

Experience

At the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, Africa, as Director of Advocacy and previously Director of Program Operations, Matshidiso was responsible for leading the country and regional program departments, developing and implementing country-specific strategies and innovative programs, supporting collaboration across country offices, governments and private sector partners. She has also been responsible for the establishment and management of a major corporation’s CSO HIV/AIDS program through policy development, research, advocacy, coordination and integration across the African Continent. She successfully delivered the Fifth Botswana HIV Clinicians Society International HIV Conference, identifying potential sponsors, researching, writing, planning and running all aspects of conferences to achieve maximum reach and impact.
