Valeria McFarren Piper Valeria is a strategic communications professional with more than a decade of experience developing and implementing communications and advocacy strategies across the United States, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. Working with the Millennium Challenge Corporation she developed a communications campaign as part of a $363 million compact in Lesotho that aimed to mitigate the negative economic impacts of poor maternal health, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and other diseases by substantially strengthening the Lesotho’s health care infrastructure and human resources for health capacity. She is an expert in weaving together international public policy, data and anecdotes into corporate communications tools.

Valeria is conversational in French and Portuguese, and speaks Spanish fluently. She was born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia, and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with her husband.

Valeria is the co-founder of Chaski Global, heads Corporate Communications for Pike Corporation, one of the largest power engineering companies in the US, and is an Adjunct Professor at the Federal Executive Institute. Previously at the Millennium Challenge Corporation she was responsible for creating the agency’s results portfolio, and served as the counterpart to communications experts in 23 countries, overseeing budgets over $10 million and executing national communications campaigns. She has provided executive counsel to leaders in government, NGOs and corporations delivered consulting services for IBM, Citibank, the World Bank and several NGOs.
